Teach English

Hi. I attended the August 2005 Barcelona, Spain training. Hello to all my Friends- I miss you all. As a result of attending the month-long program, I found a teaching job in Thailand from November 2005 - March 2006. I am back in China for now, but am looking to be employed in my own place (HOPEFULLY-WISH ME LUCK!) soon.

took the course in Phuket, Thailand, even though I am in China and could have gone to Zuhai in Guangdong Province just an hour away. The main reason being I have a basis in Chinese and wanted to take the course 'lingua tabula rasa' in another country. This allowed me to experience new language exposure, apply course principles in my own 'foreign' classroom environment in the community I was staying, and then juxtapose all this against my own students experiences in my classroom. Phuket is also a nice place to get away from the rat race of big cities and big institutions. I learnt a lot more in those 4 weeks than what I had learnt in all these years.

The TESOL course was interesting and made me more confident. I've made many new and interesting friends and have enjoyed my time in Vietnam. Teaching Practice without any doubt is the most excellent part of this course.

Learning new teaching method to teach children that are not English speakers is the best thing I observed. I'd like to get more practice with different methods and on different schools. I loved staying in India and get experience in Indian schools.

I have enjoyed the last four weeks, and have made some really good friends. The course content was intensive but useful. The teaching Practice was the best part though it was too hectic and nerve wracking! Thanks to the trainers for their support.

It was really very nice experience of my life. But I think class timing should be short. The teaching practice was invaluable, I didn't expect to be teaching, when i found out I was nervous but by the end of the teaching I found I really enjoyed it. Good experience and its like learning while doing the job.

When my friend and I decided to take the TEFL course, we thought it was full of openings and experience but we were disappointed to discover that the opportunities may not be for people like us because we are non native speakers of English, we find this disappointing and difficult to understand because the language of instruction throughout our educational system in India is the English language.

It was really a good experience. Grammar lesson were useful, I liked it. There was a lot of writing assignments and the teaching Practice was too hectic which makes the course stressful. At the end of this program I felt exhausted.
