TESOL Egypt, Alexandria Courses
Why TEFL in Alexandria, Egypt?
Egypt is the second oldest civilization in the world. The land of the pharaohs, the sphinx, the pyramids, the mummies and the Nile, Egypt has remained a mystery for the world. It is a land that has been the granary of Europe and the legend of Cleopatra. For long Egypt and its rich culture and ancient tradition has been an enigma that tourists, travelers and historians have wanted to experience and unravel. European, Arabic and its own traditional culture, have influenced the "Gift of the Nile", which makes Egypt what it is today.
A TESOL Certificate Program from TEFL International that too is embedded in a sound tradition of teaching and developing skill sets is complemented here by the cultural, traditional and historical grandeur of Egypt.
What is the attraction in Egypt?
Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria was the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt. The setting for the stormy relationship between Cleopatra and Mark Antony, Alexandria was also the center of learning in the ancient world. But ancient Alexandria declined, and when Napoleon landed, he found a sparsely populated fishing village. From the 19th century Alexandria took a new role, as a focus for Egypt's commercial and maritime expansion.
The second largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern ; its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km. from Cairo. This exclusivity of Egypt has also helped it to qualify as one of the popular locations among the wannabe TEFL teachers taking up the 4-weeks TESOL Program.
Alexandria, that charming city, presents to every visitor the fragrance of the past rich in history, civilization and culture. It is the city that has attracted the greatest men of letters in the world and is continuing the tradition by attracting tourists from world over to strengthen their academic dexterity with the help of the TESOL Certificate Program.
Once the centre of the ancient world, Alexandria has let most of its historical monuments disappear. But the Egyptian city still has plenty to offer its visitors. Explore the bustling streets and souks and discover a vibrant street life, an unparalleled welcome and an uninhibited cultural exchange to augment your TEFL training weeks.
What is in Egypt for you?
Alexandria is a wonderful city to get lost in. Throw away your map and walk into a back alley and witness the extreme kindness and generosity of the people. Listen to the stories and immerse yourself in the culture. Watch the sun set at Alexandria's water front avenue. Alexandria is still recognized globally a city of legends even though the city of the past is now in the collective memory of the art and writing. Visit the museum, stand in the sand, taste the food, feel the culture and experience the adventure.
On the tourist map
Alexandria with its Greaco- Roman, Islamic and Christian influences is a veritable store house of historical artifacts and monuments. One can see the Amphitheatre, the Qait bay Fort, the Royal Jewellery Museum, the Montazah Palace, the ancient Library and the University. It is undoubtedly a unique learning experience for all those TEFL teachers who are constantly on lookout for new and interesting input for their ESL classrooms.
Weekend excursion
The TESOL location Alexandria is blessed with the Mediterranean climate and a 40 km beach with smooth sand and beautiful landscape. Apart from spending time on the beach and inspecting all the historical monuments you can take a stroll in the Antoniadis Gardens, as and when you are free from the TEFL lessons and ESL teaching practice sessions. It contains a collection of statues built according to the Greek style. These statues together with the trees and flowers mixed up with them form a homogenous cordon around the Antoniadis Palace. The Antoniadis palace and its park are constructed as a miniature of the Palace of Versailles. The Shallalat Gardens is an uneven park consisting of small hills, valleys and small streams, and contains an artificial pond. The International Garden lies at the entrance of the desert road. It comprises several cultural and recreational activities, galleries, water sports and restaurants. The excursion options are replete with moments of pleasure and enjoyment that would help the TESOL trainees to rejuvenate themselves.
Evening and Nightlife
Like any other modern city Alexandria has many pubs and nightclubs for the trainees of TEFL International to chill out.
