Cyprus is the third largest Mediterranean island and one of the most

The medieval castle of Limassol now serves as a medieval museum. The
collection that the museum provides covers the era of 400 - 1870 A.D. A
visitor can see numerous exhibits: cannons, wood carvings of the 17th
and 18th century, paintings and tombstones, statues, suits of armor,
coins, terracotta, metalware and pottery, glass and marble artifacts.
The Archaeological Museum provides a very interesting collection of
antiquities found in the district of Limassol, dating from the Neolithic
Age to the Roman period.
The Folk Art Museum is beautifully preserved old house which provides a
very interesting collection of Cypriot Folk Art of the last two
centuries. Some of the most fascinating objects of the collection are:
national costumes, tapestry, embroidery, wooden chests, waistcoats,
men’s jackets, necklaces, a variety of light clothes, town costumes,
country tools etc.
The Public Garden is situated on the coastal road. It provides a great
variety of vegetation: eucalyptus trees, pine trees and cypresses. Apart
from walking in this serene environment one can also visit a mini zoo
within the premises that houses indigenous species of animals. Not far
from the zoo there is the small natural history museum and the garden
theatre that is reconstructed to host famous international groups.

Limassol is famous in Cyprus for its festivals, like the Carnival and
Wine Festival. The Limassol Carnival festival lasts for ten days, with
amusing masquerading. This custom is very old, going back to pagan

entertaining character, with a large, popular following. Many
fancy-dress balls and parties take place at many hotels every night.
During the first quarter of September, the great Wine Festival of Cyprus
takes place in the Limassol Municipal Garden, every evening between 8.00
hrs - 23.00 hrs. During the festival the visitor has the chance to taste
some of the best Cyprus wines, which are offered free of charge. On some
evenings, various groups from Cyprus and abroad perform folk dancing and
there are also choirs and others.
Other festivals are Yermasogeia Flower Festival (May), Festival of the
Flood (June), Shakespearean nights and Festival of Ancient Greek Drama.
Weekend Activities
Cyprus has something for every one and there is never a dull moment.
Both for the high energy out door person and the more relaxed and laid
back traveller it has activities that can keep your weekends busy.
There are several beaches in Kyrenia and Lefke which offer a variety of
water sports ranging from water skiing, paragliding, wind-surfing and
jet skiing.
Famagusta has long been famous for its miles of sandy beaches. The
beaches are safe and perfect for your Cyprus holiday with some great
spots for swimming and snorkeling.
The coast of Agia Napa is considered as the finest regarding beaches in
Cyprus. Extensive silvery, sandy beaches cover the area which attracts
the majority of tourists.
In Cyprus there are quite a few horse riding centres, where you can
enjoy trekking through nature. For the more adventurous visitor to
Cyprus, bungee jumping is available in Agia Napa.

bird in Cyprus. Most of them are migratory birds that can be observed
more during the winter months.

There are regular bus and taxi services from the airports to the city.

Weather
Cyprus has a typical Mediterranean climate, warm and dry with little
rainfall, which makes Cyprus very popular as tourist destination.
TEFL Location
The TESOL International school is located at 8, Souliou Street, in a
residential area in Limassol. There are 9 well equipped classrooms, a
language room, a computer room, overhead video projector, free access to
the Internet, a study room, a small library, a cinema room accommodating
up to 200 students, a self-service cafeteria (vending), a spacious
lounge, and a waiting room. The school is fully air--conditioned. The
distance to the beach and to the town center is only 2 km.
