South Africa is one of the most colorful and fascinating countries on the face of the earth. The country of South Africa is a smaller version of this magnificent continent. This country has a perfect blend of the wild wilderness and ultra modern cities. There is a wide variety of exotic flora and fauna in this region which is also the fact behind its popularity with the international tourists. Like the flora and fauna, the landscape of South Africa is also very fascinating, on one side it has a long coastline with some great beaches and on the other side is the highest mountain range of the continent, Kilimanjaro. Port Elizabeth in South Africa like the continent has a mix of creed, culture and colors. In this city it is also possible to see the real African culture and trades. The National Arts Festival which takes place in Grahamstown very near to Port Elizabeth has international reputation. The visitors to Port Elizabeth will never experience a dull moment as in this city there are a multiple options of outdoor activities from water sports to hiking, biking or long drives. The world famous Jeffrey’s Bay which is very near to the beach is an ideal location to surf. There are a number of places to visit in Port Elizabeth though it is small town. The visitors to this city can indulge in many exotic activities like, go whale watching on the Indian Ocean or go to the Kragga Kamma Game Reserve to see some rare animal species. There are a number of museums in Port Elizabeth which illustrate various aspects of South African history. The Settler’s Park in the city is a major attraction as people love to take a walk there and enjoy the indigenous coastal vegetation. The Cape Recife Nature Reserve is another most visited place of Port Elizabeth. Some of the must visit places in the city of Port Elizabeth are, monuments on the Donkin Heritage Trail, Donkin Reserve park, Fort Frederick, Saint George’s Park and King George VI Art Gallery. There are regular cruises from Port Elizabeth like for example, the sunset cruise or dolphin watching cruise.

Evening and Nightlife
There are many places to go in Port Elizabeth after sundown. The nightlife of this city encircles around the numerous bars, restaurants and clubs in the city. The News Café which has its branch scattered all over South Africa is also present in this city and is very popular with the tourists and the locals. There are some great restaurants in this city which serve some delectable sea food dishes. Wines and beers are not very inexpensive in Port Elizabeth. There are also sports clubs here which transform into hardcore nightclubs after dusk.

Excursions from Port Elizabeth
There are a number of places to visit from Port Elizabeth in South Africa on a weekend. Shamwari Game Reserve is a renowned game reserve which is only at a distance of one hour from the city of Port Elizabeth. Numerous species of animals including lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo can be seen here. The Grahamstwon is just 125 kilometers from Port Elizabeth and it is famous for being host to the National Art Festival. Jeffrey’s Bay or J-Bay is located very near to this city and is a host to the Billabong Professional surfing contest which takes place each year as it is said to have the perfect wave.

About our TEFL Location
The school of TEFL International in Port Elizabeth is going to join the English Language Travel Association of South Africa in near future. The school is located by the sea and is only 10 minutes from the heart of the city. The classrooms are very modern and spacious and as it is near the beach the students can relax on the beach or swim in the ocean during break. The trainers are very qualified and experienced and the support staff is very helpful.

Connectivity
The city of Port Elizabeth is well connected with the other cities of South Africa by train, flights and buses. The rail service is not very fast in South Africa so it is best to travel by road or air. It is possible to take a car to any part of South Africa as the cities are well connected by highways.

Weather
The weather of Port Elizabeth is pleasant throughout the year as it is located by the sea. There is no rainfall in the summer months and winters bring thunderstorms with it. The winter season is best in this city and the thunderstorm in the area is truly fascinating. The average temperature in Port Elizabeth in the winters in 20 degree Celsius and in the summer months it is 25 degree Celsius.
